Our first reaction to putting out any fire is by spraying it with water. Unless you’re on fire, then it’s the commonly known Stop-Drop-Roll. But, (as some of you might already know) this isn’t the best method for containing all fire situation.
Let’s say you’re heating up some oil in a pan and you walk away (firstly, NEVER do that!). You come back and it’s on fire. This video shows you exactly what happens when you try to pour water on it. In short, the water will evaporate so quickly that it’ll send all the oil upwards carrying the fire with it. But since it does that so quickly in real time, all we’ll see is a huge fireball of an explosion. With the help of a handy-dandy (and expensive) slow motion camera, we can see the evaporation process and exactly what happens to the water.
Gav and Dan from The Slow Mo Guys are the owners of this expensive camera that helps us see the finer details of life. At the 3:16 mark they tell us the best way to help contain a fire is by covering the pan with damp cloth.
Please do not attempt this at home, it will not be pretty. I don’t care what slow mo app you’ve downloaded, just don’t be stupid.
On May 22nd 2015, Denmans Critters Farm posted a baby announcement! Three births in fact, by their goat resident and already proud momma of one, Naomi. Naomi’s two girls and one boy took everyone by surprise. She’s only delivered one baby before and so no one was expecting three! Babies and momma are doing well! So well in fact, here’s the babies’ first bubble bath and blow drying session! They’re so tiny! And adorable! And tiny!! Even their little bleats are so cute! I love that scene right at the end when they were getting blow dried and they give that “WHAT IS THAT!??!” look with all of their ears starting to move up in unison!
It’s not every day you see a pet squirrel. But on the days that you do, how often are they driving?! This (rescued) squirrel seems to be in a rush going some where important, because he’s not enjoying the way his human is driving. Watch this video of him showing the human driver how it’s done. I especially like the part at 0:15 where he pushes the driver’s hand away as if to say, “No, you’re doing this wrong. I’ll handle it from here!”
Any cat person will know that cats feel that they are superior to everyone and every thing – so all other beings can just bow down. That’s exactly what this adorable tiny kitten was thinking, too. He tries to tame this Pit Bull with his PAWers! It’s so sweet to see how this wonderful Pit Bull responded to being pawed in the face and jumped on. She’s probably the most patient dog I’ve ever seen! Not only does she not show any aggression to the little swatting thing, she actually shows affection towards kitty! Who says Pit Bulls are dangerous?! This owner did an amazing job of raising their furbabies! Kudos!
Fennec foxes are legal to be kept as pets in the United States, that doesn’t mean that they’ll be like your typical pet dog. They’re nocturnal and are incredibly energetic and curious about everything.
Originally from the Sahara, those incredibly cute, over sized ears of theirs are to keep them cool, as well as allow them to hear preys moving underground. They have the energy of a young dog, and have the flexibility of a cat! In other words, they’re a handful!
But sometimes they CAN be like your typical Fido. Take this video as an example. Just watching this fox run back and forth and how focused it is made me smile so much! I think my favorite part in the whole video is just watching those enormous ears flop around! And maybe the accompanying intense music in the background. At least its curiosity and energy is being released all at the same time!
