Your Sleep Position Reveals Your Personality So Accurately It’s Scary

It is said that humans spend about one third of our life sleeping. This is the time when our body recoups, releases hormones to promote growth, repairs cells, tissues as well as helps you helps you function well the next day. So.. it’s kind of important.

It is said that Winston Churchill use to take a two-hour nap every day at 5pm and would be able to do one and a half day’s worth of work. Think that’s weird? Leonardo Da Vinci use to take 20-minute naps every four hours to recharge his brain. Mariah Carey’s voice is precious to her and requires sleeping with 20 humidifiers around her.

Most of us common folks aren’t as eccentric, but did you know that the position you sleep can reveal what type person you are? Well, it’s assumed that some specific personality traits are linked to specific sleeping patterns. Even though there are some people who move around a lot or sleep with their extremities in weird position, these are what common sleep positions (as illustrated by Maya Borenstein for LittleThings) reveals about your personality.

Log position is when the sleeper is on their side, legs extended straight and arms by their sides. This is the second most popular position. Log sleepers are very social, engaging and easygoing people. They are also very trusting which can sometimes make them easy preys for people.
The yearner position looks a lot like the log. The person sleeps on their sides but their arms are stretched out in front of them. As if the arm gesture wasn’t enough, it is said that people who sleep like this are usually very inviting and open. Yet, they can be suspicious and are often very cynical. Yearners like to take their time making sure of their decisions, but once their minds are set, it’s set in stone.
A person that sleeps in soldier position is one that sleeps on their back with their arms straight down at their side. Solider sleepers, as the name implies, takes themselves very seriously and are very structured. They have high expectations for themselves and the people surrounding them. And because they’re sleeping on their back, they have a higher tendency to snore.
A freefaller sleep on their stomach, head to either side, with their arms wrapped around a pillow. As the name suggests, freefallers are very sociable and open. Yet they can be so to-the-point that it comes off as a bit rude. They may seem free spirited most of the time, but freefallers are also secretly anxious, crave control, and are easily sensitive to criticism.
The starfish position is the least popular sleeping position. Starfish sleepers lie on their back with their legs stretched out, and their arms stretched up by their head. People who sleep like this are very loyal and makes friendship a huge priority in their lives. They will always be there to listen to the problems of their friends and will go out their way to help when they can.
The fetal position, in which a person sleeps on their side with their legs curled up, is one of the most popular positions. It’s been guessed that about 41 percent of people sleep this way. People sleeping in fetal positions have a tough exterior, but are very shy and sensitive on the inside. They can also over-think problems and worry unnecessarily.
